TYPE: Peru. Cusco: Machu Picchu, Quebrada Alccamayo, terrestrial in loose sphagnum moss, 3000-3200 m, endemic in region around Maccho Picchu, collected by E. Quispe et al., flowered in cultivation by Inkaterra, Oct. 2009, Carmen Soto 5, C. Luer illustr. 21496 (holotype, USM; illustration of type).
